Darius Chung, a DHS senior, and Max Scott, an HRMS 8th grader, were announced as the Northeastern Conference (NEC) all stars for the 2024-25 swimming and diving season.
Junior Zach Cotter was also announced as an All-Conference selection. Cotter swam the 100 back and 100 freestyle. Cotter made both the sectional and state in the 100 back race.
Chung, who has been on the team for three years, swam the 50 free and the 100 free. Overall, the swim and dive team went 3-3 on the season.
Lastly, Scott who (despite being in 8th grade, joined the DHS swim team this year) swam the 500 free, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM (individual medley).
When asked about the season, Head coach Ms. Meg Symmes said that “It was a wonderful season with a great team that all supported one another.”
The swim season ended on a high note, with the team winning their last meet 95-88 over Gloucester at St. John’s.
While this was Daruis’s last year with the team, Max and Zach will be back next season, hoping to continue their dominance in the pool.
