Kicking off this week’s Senior Spotlight, we are thrilled to announce that the last featured senior for this school year is…. Opal Brisbois! As we prepare for our seniors to leave, Opal has left her mark on Danvers High School – between her involvement in clubs and her dedication in the classroom. We are excited to share Opal’s story here at DHS and what she’s done to help our school.
To start, Opal is involved in many school clubs and activities including Women of the World, the National Art, English, and World Language Honor Societies, and she serves as the team manager for field hockey.
Opal’s involvement in these clubs are very important. Opal holds the position of being the media chair for the National Art Honor Society and is a part of their executive board. In this role, she manages the society’s social media by posting content such as upcoming events. This position allows Opal to improve her creative skills and help influence a greater appreciation for the arts within our school.
In addition, Opal is dedicated and works hard as the team manager for our field hockey team. She carefully keeps track of important game stats, including goals, assists, and overall team performance. Her motivation as team manager not only helps the team be motivated and informed, but it also allows her to strengthen her leadership, management, and communication skills.
Physics teacher Mr William Black speaks out about Opal as a fellow student,
“Opal is an outgoing student who always used to brighten the physics class with her effervescent aura. I loved having her in class as she was always willing to initiate class discussion and not afraid of volunteering answers!” Mr Black shared. “ She’s a great young woman who is bound to go places due to her confidence and ability”
Her friend, Gianna Parello speaks highly about her,
“Opal and I have been friends for years. Her loyalty, honesty and compassion has only strengthened our friendship,” Gianna said. “She is an extremely dedicated individual who is willing to assist anyone with anything, whenever, which just goes to show her amazing character.”
Over her last four years here at Danvers High School, Opal was overall an outstanding student. She plans to go to the University of New Haven and while there she wants to study psychology. We wish her the best next year!
