As reported by Peabody police, a man from Saugus, Massachusetts, has been taken into custody and charged with the vandalism of several Tesla vehicles at a North Shore dealership on March 11, 2025.
The incident happened when the store manager alerted authorities that an individual had splashed red paint across a number of vehicles parked on the lot at the Tesla store on Andover Street, before making a run from the scene.
The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Gardy Pierre, was taken into custody at the North Shore Mall after a brief foot chase with officers.
During his arraignment on Tuesday at Peabody District Court, Pierre faced twelve counts of vandalism. However, Pierre pleaded not guilty, maintaining his innocence as he prepares to return to court on May 20th. The estimated loss from the damage that was done to the vehicles has reached $500,000, a significant impact on the dealership and its inventory, police stated.
