Former Market Basket bagger Bob Hoyt has released a Spotify playlist that has gone viral with songs from his former workplace.
Hoyt, who is now 37, would listen to these songs every day when he had worked at Market Basket at the age of 14.
Hoyt said the playlist is filled with “a collection of songs that you would never pick to listen to” but Hoyt also mentioned about the songs “but once it’s on, you sing along”.
The playlist, called “MarketBasket Classics” has over 25 hours of “One-hit wonders, clunky 80’s hits” that shoppers can hear walking the aisles of Market Basket.
Hoyt said that when a new song came on “You’d collect them, almost like Pokemon cards”. This Spotify playlist has over 4421 downloads and is continuing to grow each day as of May 6th 2025.
