Late last month, forty-one of our Danvers DECA students took a trip to Orlando, Florida to compete against students world wide at the ICDC (International Career Development Competition).
Danvers ended up in the top finishers with two teams ending up in 5th and 6th place in the world. To put this into perspective, only 0.5% of students who compete at DECA make it to this point.
The first of these two teams was seniors Gianna Ferraro and Kenzie Rourke who won fifth place with Katie’s Closet, an organization that strives to help people in need of clothes. They take donated clothes and give them to the less fortunate. For example, they’ll attend school events and advocate for any clothes you maybe don’t wear anymore to be donated.
For the second team, Danvers DECA, seniors Darius Chung, Charlie Morris, and Kevin Ouellette who won sixth place with their non-profit Danvers DECA Falcon Foundation.

Head DECA advisor Ms. Meghan Bealieu expressed her excitement at the teams’ accomplishments, stating “This is a huge accomplishment, finishing at the end is truly remarkable.”
