This Tuesday, Danvers had its annual election to pick a new member for the school board. This year was a big one because there were 7 people running for the spot. One of them was the current chair of the school board, Daniel Bennett. Another candidate was Gardner Trask, who used to be on the Select Board. There were also five new people running, Michael Baxter, Sandy Franceschini, Kevin Berich, Natalie Luca Diore, and Mark Lentine. Each of 7 of these people are fighting for the 2, 3 term spots on the school board.
With the election results we saw some substantial differences with a 183 vote difference between the Winner and the runner up. But time for the results. Gardner Trask Won the election with an astonishing 1,561 votes, falling above Daniel Bennett with 1,378 votes. But that’s enough for the school board now onto the school Committee.
There were a total of 2 contestants for the school committee where Chair Gabe Lopes was being challenged by Maxwell Rudin but in the end Gab Lopes came out on top for the second year in a row.
