Released earlier this month, the new movie Thunderbolts* looks like a top Marvel movie of the year.
Thunderbolts* contains six antiheroes: Yelena (Florence Pugh), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) who go on a risky mission to Utah to fight rogue agents, which ends up being a cover-up for their boss. The villain, Valentina allegra de Fontaine, sends this team of antiheroes on a mission that she hopes will result in their deaths, in an attempt to cover up her own involvement in the cover-up.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
This movie, unlike many other Marvel movies, wasn’t very good. There were holes in the plot of the movie. For example, in order for this team of six to complete their mission successfully, they all have to overcome their personal struggles. On this mission, the antiheroes ran into another supernatural being (Bob) who was unaware of his powers. Bob changed the whole plot of the movie as just a random character thrown into the mission with them. First, he was on the same team as the antiheroes, but then he was turned into a black void. This part didn’t make much sense, because the movie does not make clear how he turned into the void. The whole plot was changed because the void was evil.
In addition, another scene that didn’t make sense was when Bob was fighting against the void, trying to get it out of his mind. The audience thought that Bob was the void, so how could he be fighting himself?
All in all, although this movie was filled with action-packed moments, the plot needed more explanation, especially about the main villain.
