Over the past couple of years, there has been a debate about whether Qdoba or Chipotle is better. Does one truly offer better flavors, or is it all just a matter of each person’s preference? With loyal fans backing each side, the debate still continues, sparking endless discussions. So, let’s take a look into the battle of…. Qdoba vs. Chipotle!
To start off, let’s start with my personal favorite – Chipotle. Not only does Chipotle have better flavor, but it also offers a simple menu to their customers, and they are very fast with taking orders, both in-person and online. Everytime I bite into a Chipotle burrito, it brings joy to my taste buds. I can’t say the same about Qdoba.
Now, this discussion isn’t just about which tastes better. Many might also argue “oh but Qdoba has bigger portion sizes”, but that’s not always the case. Though sometimes Chipotle disappoints me with their portions, it really depends on the worker and whether you get a burrito, bowl, or something different. Many will also argue that one is healthier than the other. After trying Qdoba, I’ll admit their food tastes fresher than Chipotle, but Chipotle is considered to be the healthier choice between the two.
Other than taste and portion sizes, the restaurants themselves are about equal. For both restaurants, you go in and order through a glass protector, and both offer many seats including comfortable booths.
We asked some DHS students about their preference. Senior Madison Savage speaks greatly about Qdoba;
“Two years ago, my dear friend Raina Langlais introduced me to what I now believe is one of the best things my taste buds have ever experienced: Qdoba’s Three-Cheese Queso.” Madison adds on saying, “since then, I’ve never looked at Chipotle the same way.”
Senior Raina Langlias also told us why she likes Qdoba better.
“I love Qdoba.Their queso tastes like actual cheese, unlike Chipotles,” Langlais said. “You never have to ask for good portions. If I had to have a final meal, I’d pick Qdoba.”
However, sophomore Emma Coffin prefers Chipotle.
“There once was a point in my life where I genuinely enjoyed eating at Qdoba,” Emma said. “Until I tried Chipotle. From that moment on, I never looked back,” Emma added, “I remember my first visit to Chipotle clearly. I ordered the same type of meal I usually get at Qdoba, but something was different. The flavors were bolder, the ingredients tasted fresher, and the overall experience was far more satisfying.”
In the battle of Qdoba vs Chipotle, the winner is clear. Chipotle delivers those rich tastes we all crave, and that experience where your taste buds and stomach are going to thank you. Overall, Chipotle gets 5 out of 5 stars for taste which is the most important thing when it comes to getting food.
