The transformation of the Danvers High School weight room is officially in motion, with phase one of the upgrade project already completed.
Phase one included new plates and new dumbbells.
Recently, The Flying Onion caught up with the Athletic Director Mr. Drew Betts, who told us this is a multi-phase project.
“We are working on getting some weight room improvements, but we’re still working on getting some additional grants/donations for a full renovation”, said Betts.
When the funds are available through grants and donations, the school can expect a totally new and improved open concept weight room that’s available to students of all sports.
The whole goal is to have this gym available to all students as a convenient and free option for students to go to, instead of gyms like Crunch and Best Fitness.
The DHS community should expect a new and improved weight room in the coming school year.
