Last Saturday was the senior and junior homecoming here at DHS. It was held in the courtyard next to the library, and the theme was secret garden.
This year’s dance was different from the rest, because it was held outside and not in the winter, two factors made the dance much more enjoyable.
Another difference in this year’s homecoming was that the attire was different. Instead of the usual sparkly short tight dresses girls wore long satin, or floral short dresses. And most wore sandals and not heels, all reflecting the garden theme, not the typical semi-formal outfits of recent homecoming dances.
What also made this homecoming dance so special was the decor and lighting. In the past years it was always held in the auditorium where the lights were too bright. But our awesome student government were able to set up pretty fairy lights that lit up the courtyard, making it great for pictures and atmosphere.
Not to mention, the evening was a lot more fun with both of the grades combined.
“I think the dance did a great job of bringing the two grades together and overall it was a very fun and organized event,” said junior class president Kendall Murphy.
Overall, this year’s homecoming was a great success.
