The Flying Onion’s next, well-deserving “Senior Spotlight” is none other than Kirsten “KC” Jimenez!
Anyone who knows KC can speak highly to her character, intelligence, and compassion. She does not hesitate to lend a helping hand and is always radiating positive energy. KC is also very dedicated to her academics, as evidenced by her position as class valedictorian.
KC has been an involved student since freshman year. She has held her position of class treasurer for four years, is the president of National Honor Society, an officer for World Language Honor Society, and a member of National Art Honor Society. KC is also a member of the Tomorrow’s Teachers club.
Mrs. Anketell, who taught KC in English 10 and is also the National Honor Society adviser, spoke of KC’s qualities both as a student and human.
“I see her overall work ethic and attitude towards every task that she does,” Ms. Anketell said. “KC always sees the good in people and cares deeply about her community and making people feel acknowledged and special. She consistently exceeds expectations as NHS President, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person for the role.”
Maddie Walfied, a close friend of KC’s, shone a light on what KC’s thoughtful character.
“[KC] puts others before herself,” Maddie told The Flying Onion. “No matter what she’s going through, she always tries to be kind to people and make other people’s days better.”
Although KC isn’t committed to a college yet, her top two choices are Northeastern and Merrimack, and she plans to major in nursing to one day become a maternity nurse.
The Flying Onion wishes the best of luck to KC on the rest of her senior year and adventures post high school!
