The Flying Onion’s next senior featured in our “Senior Spotlight” column is Kevin Ouellette.
Kevin is very involved with both athletics and extracurricular activities throughout DHS, and is known for being a very helpful and friendly student. He never fails to lend a helping hand or lift his friends up, and is an easy person to get along with.
Kevin’s involvement at DHS is excellent. He’s a member of National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. Kevin’s a DECA officer, serving as the Vice President of Fundraising. Further, he founded the Robotics Club.
Regarding athletics, Kevin’s a three-sport athlete, participating in varsity soccer, varsity swim, and varsity track. He was a captain for the boys soccer team both his junior and senior season.
Mrs. Russo, who taught Kevin in both honors and AP Chemistry, spoke to Kevin’s character and intelligence.
“[Kevin] is hard-working, diligent, and very optimistic. Because of this, he’s super resilient and doesn’t shy away from a good challenge. During challenges, it’s nice to have his perspective and humor around. He’s got the right sense of humor — fun and lighthearted. He’s an all-around great guy.”
Charlie Morris, a close friend and DECA partner of Kevin, described the role Kevin’s played in his own life.
“Kevin’s a great guy and an even better friend”, he told The Flying Onion. “His outstanding personality and dedication for his education make him someone who is great to ask for advice.”
Like most seniors, Kevin is not committed to a school yet, but he’s leaning towards Northeastern University to study mechanical engineering. The Flying Onion wishes Kevin luck on the rest of his senior year and all his future endeavors!
