The new school year always brings new teachers. In the building of Danvers High School, many new people have taken the place of old teachers, and others have even moved up in positions. This year, we have a new art teacher, Ms. Na, who has replaced Ms. DeSimone.
Ms. Na has taught in multiple other schools, including last year at Madison Middle School in Trumbull, Connecticut. She worked there for two years, and prior to that she taught in Walpole and Natick public schools. Altogether, Ms. Na has been working as an art teacher for five years and hopes to continue here.
When talking about her past experiences working as an elementary and middle school teacher, Ms. Na described that throughout her career her goal has been to work as a high school teacher. Moving from a middle school teacher to high school, she understands the challenges that come along with teaching at a higher level. She feels that she faces more responsibilities and hard work to succeed in the school year, teaching a new level. Along with her long-time goal of working in a high school, Ms. Na said she’d like to get to know all her students and build good relationships with them.
Even though she is enjoying the school year so far, her goals come with expected challenges. One of the main things that Ms. Na has been working on is getting used to the scheduling that we have here at Danvers High. The waterfall schedule is very new for Ms. Na, considering that the other schools she worked at offered simpler scheduling.
Overall, Ms. Na had nothing but high hopes for this school and said, “I’m so excited to be here and have a great year.” We can’t wait to see how she succeeds this school year and what it will hold for her.
