The wait is over, it’s time to celebrate another amazing senior. Meet this week’s Senior Spotlight…. Georgia Prouty! From unforgettable achievements to game-changing experiences, Georgia has combined her dedication on the soccer field with her academics and community involvement to make her mark here at DHS. We want to point out all of her hard-working accomplishments and how Georgia has contributed to making our school a better place.
To dive right in, Georgia is a well-known, two-time Northeastern Conference MVP for girls’ soccer. She was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association, and has been named All-American for soccer. This made Georgia third-ever athlete in Danvers High School history to receive this title. Alongside that, Georgia was also one of the dozen to be chosen for All-New England honorees, and recognized as Moynihan Lumber Student Athlete of the Month back in September of this school year.
Georgia was this year’s team captain, but has accomplished a tremendous amount on the field leading up to this year. During her last four years playing soccer for DHS, Georgia has had a total of eighty–one goals, including twenty-eight for this season. During her last game, she broke the all-time leading scorer record held here in Danvers, ending with a high school career total of a hundred and forty-six points.
Georgia reflected on her last game as a Falcon.
“We were all smiling and hugging even though we knew we were losing the game,” Georgia recalls. “It was just a good moment for the team.”
She also takes part in a wide range of school activities including, holding an officer position for the World Language Honor Society, and serving as a member of National Honor Society and National English Honor Society, as serving on the yearbook staff.
In the World Language National Honor Society (WLNHS), Georgia speaks out about the group saying it’s a very fun thing to be a part of alongside her advisor, Mr Bryan Vosseler (“Profe”). She also shares that the group does a lot of activities and she can easily talk to Profe if she ever needed to talk.
Profe spoke about Georgia as a student and as officer of the WLNHS,
“I have known Georgia since her Freshman year! I am the advisor for the World Language National Honor Society, and it has been my pleasure to work with her as an officer of the society. I can always count on her to do the best with whatever responsibility she decides to take on. I’m sure that she will succeed with whatever comes her way in the future!”
Senior Raina Langlais also spoke positively about Georgia.
“Georgia’s really nice,” Raina commented. “She’s always super humble about all her accomplishments.”
To finish her high school years strong, Georgia has signed a NLI (National Letter of Intent) to play soccer at Boston University, and is looking forward to studying marketing while there. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for her, and as she crosses the graduation stage, she will leave behind a legacy of excellence here at Danvers High School!
