Danvers High School has selected a new principal for the next school year, Mr. Alan Strauss, a former superintendent and school principal who has worked in both Massachusetts and Connecticut
For several months, Danvers High School has been experiencing a vacancy in the school of a permanent principal. The role had been previously filled by Adam Federico, who left last summer to serve as the assistant superintendent at Lynnfield High School. After Mr. Federico’s departure, Curriculum Director Mr. Peter DiMauro stepped up to serve as an interim principal this past school year.
In order to choose a new school leader, a board was formed to decide who would fill the role of Danvers High School’s principal, and after much thought and discussion on the topic, the applicant pool was narrowed down to three finalists: Educational administrators Mr. Jeff, Carovilano, Mr. Mark Martineau, and Mr. Alan Strauss. In the end, Mr. Strauss was selected for the role.
Mr. Strauss has many past work experiences qualifying him for this position. He has worked as a school coach, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and even superintendent in Massachusetts and Connecticut, with his most recent position as a superintendent of the Freetown-Lakeville school system in southern Massachusetts.
