This year’s boys basketball season here at DHS has been good so far. The boys’ varsity team is currently holding a record of 5-4, showing impressive skill and teamwork each and every game.
On Friday January 3rd, we headed over to Beverly High, a tough NEC team, where despite our team’s best efforts we unfortunately lost with a final score of 65-79. This game was intense for both players and fans. Danvers had a good start only allowing a small lead in points, but later we sadly fell back.
Leading scorers for this game were Kevin Ahearn with a total of 14 points and Kyle Sillars with also a total of 14.
One of the three captains for our team, Connor DiTomaso, stated, “We fought hard and never gave up when we were down. With our motivation and passion for the sport, we are looking to make a deep run.”
Connor also informs us that their coach, Coach Clarke, always motivates the team constantly as best as he can. The boys’ next game will be away at Marblehead on Friday, January 17th. We hope to see fellow faces supporting our team in the stands and are excited for the rest of the season. Go, Falcons!
