Girls basketball take the win over Manchester Essex

Danvers Girls Basketball, now 6-2, beat Manchester Essex in their game on Monday, December 30th.

Leading scorer for Danvers, junior captain Angie Djoko had 15 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, junior captain Kayda Brown with four 3-pointers, four steals and 14 overall points, and sophomore Kyla Moroney with five points, eight boards and two steals as the Falcons continued their amazing start to the season.

“We are playing great as a team and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds for us,” said senior captain Madeline Shairs.

With the Manchester Hornets barely trailing the Falcons with a 26-22 score at half, junior Lila Flynn came right out the gates with two steals.

Our next home game will be Tuesday, January 14th against Peabody. The team hopes to see everyone there to support Danvers Girls Basketball!

Kayda Brown is a Junior at Danvers High School, and this is her second year taking journalism, being one of the four Incoming Editor-In-Chief’s next school year. Her extracurriculars include Girls Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Lacrosse, Morgans Message Club, Best Buddies Club, NEXX Gen, and WLNHS member. After high school, she plans on expanding her academics at a college/university, majoring in Nursing.
