Last month, boxing legend and worldwide businessman George Foreman passed away at 76 years old. There is no given cause of death at this moment.
Foreman is most famously known for his exceptional boxing. His most famous fight was “The Rumble in the Jungle” from 1974, in which Foreman, the then undefeated and undisputed heavyweight champion, got knocked out by the legendary Muhammad Ali, trying to reclaim the title he once had.
This fight boosted both fighters into global superstardom. The fight was estimated to have been watched by one billion people worldwide and became a symbol of its era and is now known as one of, if not the most, iconic fights in boxing history.
Additionally, George Foreman is also known for his invention of the George Foreman Grills, which became wildly popular in the late 90’s, and are still sold on his website, George Foreman Cooking. He often appeared in commercials for the grills with his five sons, all also named George Foreman.
Foreman once said that he has made “much more than $200 million” from his grills, surprisingly, this surpasses his total boxing career earnings.
“Big” George Foreman’s legacy will go on and he will forever be remembered.
