The Wireless Music festival in the UK has been canceled after artist Kanye West has been banned from entering the UK, due to his previous controversial remarks regarding Jewish people.
West, legally known as Ye, was scheduled to headline all three days of the July festival; however, as of Monday, West’s application to travel to the UK has been blocked by officials.
Due to West’s inability to headline, and not enough time to find a replacement, the entire Wireless Music festival has been cancelled and refunds have been issued to customers. A spokesperson from the London festival claims “As with every Wireless festival, multiple stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking Ye and no concerns were highlighted at the time. Antisemitism (prejudice towards Jewish people) in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had.”
Over the past few years, West has been heavily criticised for his blatant antisemitism and advocacy for Adolf Hitler. In 2025, West dropped a song called “Heil Hilter” and shortly after, advertised shirts depicting swastikas on his website.
In January, West took out a full-page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for his antisemitic behavior and attributing his actions to his bipolar disorder. In a statement given last week, West offered to “meet and listen” to members of the UK’s Jewish community.
However, these apologies fell upon deaf ears, as UK officials are still strongly against West performing, claiming, “Music festivals should be places where all communities feel welcome, not venues that platform individuals with records of profiteering from antisemitism.”
West is not the only rapper to be banned from performing from the UK; rapper Snoop Dogg was banned in 2007, as well as Tyler the Creator in 2015, however both of these bans had been lifted as of today.
