This past Saturday, a violent home break-in occurred in the Prides Crossing neighborhood in Beverly, after an armed suspect entered a house and attacked a resident.
Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur, stated that a neighbor called 911 that morning to report the break-in. Police determined that the suspect broke into the house, a large mansion in the neighborhood, then assaulted and tied up the resident, and stole several items including a vehicle, which was used to flee the scene.
The stolen vehicle was later found and recovered by police, and the victim was taken to a local Beverly hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and has since been released. The identity of the victim has not been released and is not confirmed if they were the home owner, but police said that they were the only person in the house at the time.
The incident is still under investigation by the Beverly police, with assistance from the State Police. So far, no arrests have been made, and officials say more information will be shared as it becomes available.
