Serious motorcycle crash
Earlier this month, officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Sylvan Street and Adams Street involving a pickup truck and motorcycle. The cause of the crash is still currently being investigated by Danvers Police as the condition of the drivers involved remains unclear.
Police have called the crash “serious” due to parts of the motorcycle being wedged underneath the front of the truck. There was also a helicopter that landed at Plains Park due to the motorcyclist needing an airlift for serious injuries.
Incident at Thorpe
On Monday October 6th there was an incident during the morning commute when a Thorpe Elementary student was hit while in the crosswalk. The student was brushed by a car while crossing the street near the school. Witnesses claim that the crossing guard had properly stopped traffic, but the driver ignored that and proceeded through. Thankfully, the student was not seriously injured.
With all these crashes happening in just the past few weeks it is key that drivers are alert and aware when behind the wheel.
