After passing a recent audition, DHS students Kaelin Hampe, John Murphy and Brooke Wilichoski have been accepted into MMEA (Massachusetts Music Educators Association) All-State.
Kaelin Hampe and John Murphy got into All-State for the SATB (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) mixed chorus, while Brooke Wilichoski got in for the contemporary ensemble.
At the end of March, the selected students will spend a few days learning advanced music with peers from all over Massachusetts, then perform the repertoire with those peers as a collective chorus.
In addition, two DHS artists have recently won Scholastic Art Competition awards. Sophomore Violet Buckley earned a Silver Key for her oil painting “Sculpted Springs,” and senior Marlene Catalano earned an Honorable Mention for her graphite drawing “My Other Mother.” The two students are both members of the National Art Honors Society and excelling AP Art students.
The Flying Onion extends its congratulations to Kaelin Hampe, John Murphy, Brooke Wilichoski, Violet Buckley and Marlene Catalano.
