Always bored over vacation? Don’t worry, The Flying Onion has you covered. We’ve put together a list of options (some old, some new) that you can consider to keep you busy this upcoming spring break!
Shopping and Eating Out
If you can legally drive, some activities you could do are, go to the local malls, Liberty Tree located in Danvers or North Shore in Peabody. You could go shopping at their wide variety of stores or even just hang out and walk around downtown with friends. If you’re looking to hang out with loved ones, you can also go out to eat with friends or family. For example, New Brothers Restaurant and Deli downtown has a large array of items on their menu that you can choose from, or you can drop in for a coffee at Kaffmandu.
For the Creative Types
Another place you could go to is Clay Dreaming located in Beverly. Clay Dreaming is a clay studio where you can paint already made ceramics, or you can take multiple classes on how to use a pottery wheel. Their classes offer different levels allowing students to improve their technique no matter how much they already know. The cost is a five dollar studio fee for the first hour (per painter), plus $2.50 per additional hour, plus the cost of the pottery you choose to paint ($10 and up).
For the Movie Lovers
Lastly, the local AMC theaters in the Liberty Tree mall is a great place to watch newly released movies. A movie that’s popular right now is Imaginary. I recommend this film if you are a lover of horror movies, this movie comes from an original horror which brings in imaginary friends.
Free Fun
For those who don’t have the option to drive, don’t worry, because there are also many activities that you can do. You can ride a bike somewhere, and walk around your neighborhood or on our Danvers rail trail.
If you are looking for more laid back things to do, you can listen to music while doing something such as cleaning or painting, and read a book or play a board game with your family.
Lastly, you can be creative and learn to cook something you have never made before, and look at amazing recipes online (Pinterest is great for this!) or if you have a cookbook at home.
With these activities in mind, We hope all the DHS students and faculty members have a wonderful and fun break!
